What if you could predict your ADHD focus days?

Hey Reader,

Ever notice that some days, you sit down and boom — you’re in the zone, knocking out tasks like a productivity wizard (Gandalf, not Harry Potter, obviously). When you try to recapture that same energy the next day, your brain gives you an "I'm sorry, but the number you have dialed is no longer in service ...."

It’s frustrating as hell, but here’s the reality:

ADHD focus isn’t always random — it’s situational.

Your ability to focus shifts based on patterns — whether or not you’ve noticed them yet. Some key factors:

Energy Levels – Did you sleep? Eat? Move your body?
Environment – Is it noisy? Too cluttered? Are there distractions everywhere?
Stress & Emotions – Are you calm and engaged or overwhelmed and mentally checked out?
Social Interaction – Did you spend time with someone energizing or someone draining?
Task Relevance – Are you actually interested in the task—or just supposed to care?

And of course, there’s INCUP: Interest, Novelty, Challenge, Urgency, and Passion — key drivers of ADHD motivation. If a task doesn’t hit at least one of these, your brain may struggle to engage with it properly.

How to Start Working With Your Brain

Instead of waiting for focus to magically happen, start tracking what actually helps you get into the zone. Pay attention to:

🔹 What foods, habits, and activities give you energy?
🔹 What kind of environment helps you focus best?
🔹 Which tasks naturally trigger INCUP and which ones don’t?

The more you track these patterns, the more you can intentionally create better focus days instead of rolling the dice.

To make this easy, I created an ADHD Flow Tracker — a super simple tool designed to help you log your energy, environment, and habits in seconds (no complicated journaling, just a few clicks). It helps you quickly see what’s actually affecting your focus — so you can stop guessing and start working with your ADHD brain.

The Weekly Level Up Let's level up our ADHD lives a little, shall we? I recently sat down with Amy Stone on The Art of Imperfect Adulting to talk about what it’s like to discover you have ADHD as an adult — and how that diagnosis connected so many dots I didn’t even know were related. We covered a lot, including: 🧩Putting the pieces together: How the challenges my oldest kiddo faced in school led me to discover my own ADHD at the age of 39. 🌀 Getting Diagnosed: The profound impact that...

For the last few weeks, I’ve been quietly building something that ADHDers like us have needed for a long time: a way to get real support, strategies, and community without having to fight our brains (or a damn social media algorithm) to do it. Progress Beats Perfection

The Weekly Level Up Let's level up our ADHD lives a little, shall we? One of the most common questions I get is: “So … what is ADHD coaching, exactly?” And sure, I’ve got the FAQ-style answer on my website. (You can read it here, if you’re the practical type.) But the real answer? The one that matters most to me personally? It’s this: ADHD coaching is about finally being able to see yourself. Not the mask you’ve had to wear to get through the day. Not the mess or the missed deadlines or the...
