When Life Takes Over and Routines Fall Apart

The Weekly Level Up

Let's level up our ADHD lives a little, shall we?

When life ramps up and capacity runs low, we can’t do it all — and sometimes, things we love take a backseat. That’s what happened to me for the past month or so. Maybe you can relate?

Here’s what went down:

☀️ Summer showed up, school ended, and with it went all the structure my brain relies on.

👀 My eyeballs are still in prism-glasses rehab — making extended screen time feel like 73 different flavors of yuck.

🧠 And life just… kept life-ing. Capacity: minimal.

But here’s what I’m not doing:

❌ I’m not apologizing for being human.

❌ I’m not pretending I can magically “catch up” with some overnight productivity bender.

✅ I’m doing the thing I talk about on my podcast and with my clients: recognizing reality, giving myself a break, and taking one small step to start again.

This week’s short ADHD Adult(ish) episode is all about exactly that — why ADHD brains ghost their own routines, and how to get back in the game without spiraling into guilt.

🎧 Listen now

If you’ve been feeling stuck or like you fell off the face of the Earth with your own goals, habits, or plans … hi, same. Let’s normalize it — and then get back on track together.

Cheers.
Kim

The Weekly Level Up Let's level up our ADHD lives a little, shall we? I recently sat down with Amy Stone on The Art of Imperfect Adulting to talk about what it’s like to discover you have ADHD as an adult — and how that diagnosis connected so many dots I didn’t even know were related. We covered a lot, including: 🧩Putting the pieces together: How the challenges my oldest kiddo faced in school led me to discover my own ADHD at the age of 39. 🌀 Getting Diagnosed: The profound impact that...

The Weekly Level Up Let's level up our ADHD lives a little, shall we? I’ve been dreaming about this for two years — and now it’s finally happening. For the last few weeks, I’ve been quietly building something that ADHDers like us have needed for a long time: a way to get real support, strategies, and community without having to fight our brains (or a damn social media algorithm) to do it. It’s called The ADHD Level Up Lab, and it’s almost ready. This is an affordable, ADHD-friendly membership...

The Weekly Level Up Let's level up our ADHD lives a little, shall we? One of the most common questions I get is: “So … what is ADHD coaching, exactly?” And sure, I’ve got the FAQ-style answer on my website. (You can read it here, if you’re the practical type.) But the real answer? The one that matters most to me personally? It’s this: ADHD coaching is about finally being able to see yourself. Not the mask you’ve had to wear to get through the day. Not the mess or the missed deadlines or the...
